Just by chance, are you sure that the clutch disc was put in correctly. The disc has on it flywheel side and trans side. Having this in backwards will leave you short of correct mounting. Dale _____

Is your damper the original or has it been replace / renewed? If it is the original than I would not trust the timing marks as the rubber in the damper has probably deteriorated causing a variation

In Dan Master's book, for TR 250's and early TR-6's, there is no green wire going to the ignition switch. Are you sure that a PO did not place this there or that is not a lead going to the fan motor
