Out of curiosity did you polish the calipers as as well? It's my understanding that this isn't a good idea as it decrease the caliper's heat dissipating capacity because of the reduced surface area.

The snake'll be there if it survives the DBTBD. Look for the (nearly) bare metal Cobra in the misc. section with the small SOL sticker on the windshield. 'Course I may be off gawking at other cars.
