- John The only proper way to set the float is to remove the piston and look at the fuel level in the seat with the choke on. The fuel level should be just below the top of the seat. Jerry

- The two coil regulators used on all "T" types only regulates voltage. It can not control current as does the three coil units. The voltage setting should be around 15.5VDC. That is why a bad battery

- Terry I have never seen nickel plating on a Lucas generator or starter. The aluminum end plates are normally not polished. I just got done restoring a Bentley generator and it was the best Lucas part

- I do not think the sump was painted. The trans. was red and the bell-housing was not painted. The red color was Citron vermillon and MOSS spray paint matches that color. I have rebuilt an original TC
