- Take care! I done this before and got eyeful of fluid! DUH!! fill cylinder res. with fluid. push piston home, seal out put hole (thumb!) realse piston, repeat until fuild at top of output hole WEAR G

- check the volts outa the coil and at the points if they keep closing. If its 9V instead of 6v you have put on a ballasted coil and dont have a ballast resistor in line... took ages to figure out when

- have you checked the valve clearances ie tappets? if they are out it does affect compresion. spark - can you measure volts actually on the points? incorrectly assembled you can short out the supply,
