I installed a 305 in my '56 Chevy truck. I plugged the temperature sending unit into the original temperature gauge in the dash of the truck. The temperature gauge shows the engine is running "hot".

Dennis I went through the same process when I installed a 305 engine and turbo 350 tranny in my 56 truck. In a nutshell I dis-assembled the front of the truck, removed the original engine and tranny.

I recently purchased a temperature sending unit from Chevy Duty for my '56 Chevy. The sending unit is actually for the original six cylinder engine, however, I have installed a Chevy 305 in my truck.

Guys I have been trying to align the doors on my '56 Chevy truck. Prior to having the truck painted (and the doors removed) the doors fit fairly snuggly. However now they don't seem to fit very well.

There is a Rhino Lining type spray-on product available at Pep Boys. It goes on nice and adheres really well. It is about $13 a can but seems to be really good stuff. Good Luck. Mike
