My '61 Bugeye with 1275 engine runs well, but after driving it, the garage smells strongly of gasoline for several days afterwards. I do not smell anything while driving, and have checked for leaks.

Rebuilding those MC's is a bit of a chore. If you can find someone who has done one before to help you, you will be ahead of the game. Alternately, Advance Auto sells rebuilt dual MC's for about $40.

My Bugeye has a scratchbuilt wiring harness and is negative ground. The tach is electronic and looks just like the one in a Mk IV. My tach is somewhat erratic and tends to read a couple thousand RPM
