Just a quick note of thanks to Henry and the team for a great event last w=
eek. Being the new guy, it was great to race at a track that's always been =
on my bucket list and to put faces to the names of so many of you.
The car (#75 Halkias PLN) misbehaved quite a bit and the hot laps I was abl=
e to run were minimal. Then, in the final, just as I was starting to feel t=
hings in the car, the throttle linkage broke. (This was after an alternator=
failure, a throttle cable failure, a stuck throttle, etc... Drove one sess=
ion with stuck throttle. Imagine braking and gassing at the same time for 2=
0 minutes there.)
I had help with all these issues and want to thank Jerry VanVlack (my Trium=
ph Godfather), Bob Lang and Ned Sparrow especially. I learned a lot from th=
ese guys. I also want to thank my paddock neighbors, Claude, Todd, Dave and=
Lyman for their help and patience as I'm sure we were bugging them at some=
point. A couple other guys came by to help but they came and went before I=
found out who they were. Thank you if one of them was you.
It was fun and the event was run flawlessly from my viewpoint. Congratulati=
ons to the winners. Again, well done Henry and team!
