Be very careful with this step. The spring pan is under considerable pressu=

can cause injury and damage. The common spring compressors that fit to the=

Hello,

Easy to build. Get a length of 3/4 threaded rod. 4 washers and 2 nuts.
Or you can weld/braze a bar at the bottom like I did. You feed the rod
through the hole where the shock goes. Easy and safe as John says below.

Bob.

John - Bob,
Didn't he say that's what he was going to do in 2-b?

Hello,

Easy to build. Get a length of 3/4 threaded rod. 4 washers and 2 nuts. Or y=
ou can weld/braze a bar at the bottom like I did. You feed the rod through =
the hole where the shock goes. Easy and safe as John says below.

Bob.

Subject: [6pack] difference in front vs. rear wheel studs (TR6)?
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Errors-To: 6pack-bounces@autox.team.net

I'm moving from wires back to disk wheels. I've removed the shortened
studs from the hubs, and have new rear studs. I do not currently have
the front studs - but I have plenty of the ones for the rear. How
different are these - i.e. can I use the extra rear studs up front? I
can't find dimensions on these anywhere.

Thanks!
  Lee

So - I've answered my own question! -

The rear studs are too long to make it past the front hub assembly and
into the hole from behind.
So, I'll either shorten them or just buy the front studs.

John - Bob,
Didn't he say that's what he was going to do in 2-b?

Hello,

Easy to build. Get a length of 3/4 threaded rod. 4 washers and 2 nuts. Or y=
ou can weld/braze a bar at the bottom like I did. You feed the rod through =
the hole where the shock goes. Easy and safe as John says below.

Bob.

Bruce-

Be very careful with this step. The spring pan is under considerable pressu=
re from the shock spring. I don?t know your shop?s experience with these ca=
rs, but removing the spring pan without a spring compressor can cause injur=
y and damage. The common spring compressors that fit to the outside of the =
spring in my mind are dangerous. You need a threaded rod type to put into p=
lace of the shock. Then you can decompress the spring safely. You can make =
a compressor, or I can lend you mine?

John - Bob,
Didn't he say that's what he was going to do in 2-b?
