We had to pull the engine out and do a rebuild (ouch!!!)

Left the tran in because, well, seemed like a good place to store it!=C2=A0= the car is sitting on an EZLift with a 2x4 across holding up=C2=A0 the tra= n

Engine is coming back this week, and I'm thinking if I move the tran ba= ck a few inches (disconnect the driveshaft and tran mount),=C2=A0 then we c= an slide the tran back into the engine.

The engine is really easy to remove w/o the tran and I'm thinking it sh= ould just drop right back in.=C2=A0 we've done the tran R&R so many= times we should be able to slide it back into the engine.=C2=A0 I just don= 't want to go through the hassle of pulling the tran and then trying to= install them together, trying to get the tran under the scuttle then back = into the car.=C2=A0 Seems like way too much work when I think this will wor= k.

Does this make sense or am I missing something?=C2=A0 The seats, dash suppo= rt, and tunnel cover are still out.=C2=A0 carbs and exhaust manifold will b= e installed after engine is in place.

I'm bringing you the alternator, coil, dizzy, engine mounts, fan belt, = ??

I'm thinking I should add the fan after the engine is in.=C2=A0 it'= s brand new; don't want to damage it.

That can work. The transmissions will interfere with the pressure = plate unless the trans is like 4 inches back (maybe less), but if you get t= he engine lined up with the trans it can go in with less clearance.

Install manifolds, and fan after engine is in. Dizzy can be in pla= ce but it's safer to have it out and the hole plugged with a rag or somethi= ng.

My experience is with a TR4 not a 6, but should be applicable.
