Subject: [Bricklin] Bricklin forum
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Errors-To: bricklin-bounces@autox.team.net

There used to be a forum that was part of the Bricklin Web site. I had
previously been able to log in but now it can't even recover my
password. I couldn't re-register either. There are bits of it visible
which leads one to think the forum may still exist -- at least partially
-- but some of the names are missing or corrupted. What happened and is
it still being maintained or has it been abandoned? Thanks.

George,

The forum is still there and functional. You have to have cookies
enabled to access it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what your
password is/was so can't
help with that.

Subject: [Bricklin] Air Line Routing
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Errors-To: bricklin-bounces@autox.team.net

I have been replacing a few connections and lines for the air door system in the effort to remove a leak(s). I have run a few lines bypassing the controller board and found that I have no leaks from the tank to the pump. Now when I put the lines back to the board I am getting an issue where the pump will hit the 145 pressure cut off on the switch. Then the pressure drops to 120 and starts the pump again. This cycle goes until the pressure finally remains at 120. I am not sure this is normal or not. My system has always filled to the 145 pressure and then cut off without all this cycling. I believe I may have fixed a few leaks, but I do not believe that there was so much of a leak that it would have prevented the cycling.

I am curious of how others are setup. Mine runs from the pump to the connector at the center(3) then out the other side back to the tank. Is anyone else routed differently?

Not sure if the drawing below will make it through in the same format.

Greg if the pressure switch is too close to the compressor of check valve it
can cause this, it is "fooled" by a surge from the compressor, turns off,the
back on once the surge goes by. I try to pit about 3' between the compressor
and check valve then another 3' to the pressure switch, that way the surges
get a chance to even out before hitting the switch. I also put the switch on a
T and have it up higher than the rest of the system so no moisture settles in
it. I also point the inlet of the switch down.

I just ended up buying a set from terry t last winter. Also there is a very
safe spring removal tool for sale on eBay. It cost 100 w shipping but there is
no way the spring can slip. Let me know if u need the guys name. Pugs 756

Brett,

When you tear down your front suspension, would you take pictures and write an
article about how do to it, why you did it, problems you had,
etc. We haven't had
a good how to article on this in about 15 yrs.

Also what VIN do you own. My records show you used to own #0870 but sold it.

To my knowledge while the front suspension is AMC Hornet/Gremlin/Javelins/AMXs
etc. the springs are specific to Bricklin. According to Terry Tanner
there is a
difference between the 74 and 75 springs. If I remember correctly,
he recommends the 75 springs for all Bricklins.

Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Errors-To: bricklin-bounces@autox.team.net

Friends,

I replaced the brake booster and master cylinder with a rebuilt Hornet
unit, however, the hole for the bolt that engages the brake booster
seems to be "wallowed" out and moves quite a bit before engaging the
booster. The result is that I have to push on the pedal several inches
before the brakes engage (which is quite disconcerting).

Is there a bushing of some type that keeps the bolt from moving?

Thanks,

Mike

About ready to reassemble the front end suspension and have been calling

machines. Has anyone had any luck finding a shop that can still do manual
alignments?
Any other suggestions?

Brett,

Are you saying that they can't find the info, or there is no manual
input ability on
their alignment machines? Do you have the alignment info to give them?

As Click & Clack would say, start looking for a old looking shop,
then find the fellow
that doesn't have any teeth and ask him.

Do you have a community college near you? You might want to see if they have
an automotive department. If so, see if you can talk to the
instructor there. He
may be able to do it for you, or recommend someone to you.

John
