Alan,

Remove the screws in the interior, then remove the clip that is holding the
cable. From the outside remove the screw at the base of the mirror. This
will expose the mounting bracket. Remove those two screws and you should be
able to pull the cable through.

Hoping I do not need to use these, but would like to get it right. Currently I have one speed on my wipers. I removed the stock controller and added an intermittent module and still only have one speed. Any recommendations to diagnose what the problem could be?

Greg,

Since I've never had my car in one piece, I can't tell you what the
wipers are supposed to be like. But I do know that most cars of that
era and later did have
a 2 speed wiper system. So with that in mind, here is a link to an
article about
a lucus 2 speed wiper motor, and I'm pretty sure that the american 2
speed wipers
work the same way.

http://www.team.net/www/morgan/tech/electrical/wipers/2speed/2SpeedWiperMotor.html

Good luck. You might want to take some pictures while you are working on this
and write up an article for the magazine.

The wiper is a two speed one.

To get the itermitent wipres you need botha new switch and the module.
These are very hard to find as they are not made anymore.

I discovered that the switch is very similair to that on a 71-73 Mustang
(the motor also looks the same) I bought an after market intermitnet wiper
switch for the Mustang and got it to work after swapping two wires around.
Riht now I do not recall whihc two. These however are no longer made as the
quality cntril was bad. I have had 2 fail in my Mustang. the one in the
Bricklin has worked OK since I put it in.

I did read that some one has made a switch for the Mustang (which could
also I am guesssing works on the Bricklin) that is not a true intermitent
one but rather has may more speeds, the slwo and fast aas well ass a 3 5
and 10 second delay. Bumping the switch clockwise will cycle through the
speedds while bumping it anti-clckwise will turn them off.

Did a couple of different things last night. Hooked up a new wiper motor
and still one speed with the Intermittent switch and with the original. Did
an ohm meter test form the switch connector to the wires on the wiper motor
and had connectivity to each wire. Did the same with the ground wire back
to the frame.

Not sure where to go from here. It kind of makes me wonder if the plug that
connects to the switch is wired correctly.

Greg,

Do/did the high speed work before you put in the intermittant
mod? Do you still
have the original switch? If so, can you go back to the original
configuration?
Then take voltage measurements on the wire coming from the switch in the
various positions and write them down (ie. draw a picture of the
switch and the wires). Then reinstall the intermittant system, and
check the wires there. It is
entirely possible that with the intermittant system, they changed the
outputs on
the switch.

John,

The original switch only had one speed also. That was part of my motivation
to move to the intermittent switch. I was thinking the original one speed
was in the switch. Now after doing the swap back with a new motor and still
having one speed with both switches. Granted one speed it better than none,
but I would like to get to the intermittent level if I could.

To navigate the web site, go to the Home button on the upper left side of
the original web page and click it. It will take you to the new web page.
Some things work, some don't but they are getting close.

What browser are you using? And what version. You may be using an
old browser that doesn't have support for the latest html standards.

I don't know what they are using now to generate the web page, but if they are
using something like MS .NET then it generates lots of code to do
things instead
of dealing with the plain html standards.

I'm using Firefox, ver. 39, and I can see it. But it's not all working.

I have Classila 9.3.3 which came out late last year. Have also tried it on
iCab and Netscape 7.

The forum gives me a blank page.

Bricklin.org also comes up as a blank page.

Was there someting wrong with the old version that I did not know about or
was this just a lets change things for the sake of changing things moment?

You are trying to run the webpage using Mac OS 9 based browsers. OS9 has not
been supported for over a decade and the browsers are not modern web browsers
with true HTML5 support.

Not really. If filled the needs of most, I think. But some wanted a
"newer", "fresher" look. The only problem was we'd lost our web
master. And the new
one, couldn't find all the pieces. So that was a good excues to update it.

I am using an iPad and also IE on my work desktop.
I can log in to the old forum using my old UN and password,
I get the thank you for logging in message and then the log in screen comes
back.
Si cannot access any of the old forum.

I had to make a new user name/ password through shadow to get the new forum.
When I try to post a topic or reply to one, I get a message box that says it
must be approved.

All the posts that I see on the new forum are at 3 days old.

This is really upsetting to me, especially when the meet is this week.

I was not able to access the forum for about a year. I even tried to
re-register to no avail. I could get to the site itself but it recently
went blank.

Greg,

About 75 ft # is what I've always used.

Bummer. But glad you could stop. When Jim Kelliher and I were on our way back
from Gettysburg, he had his tires start to seperate when we were
passing through
DC. So we stopped at an NTW and he got a new set.

It's loaded down with Javascript for no apparent reason. The old site had Javascript menus rather than HTML and CSS, but other than that you could still see the main page.

I use Firefox with NoScript to block Javascript. Allowing "Bricklin.org" is not sufficient and just results in a blank page.

I have completely given up. I just got my membership renewal and it went into
the trash can. I use dozens of forums and this is just total crap. Been a
member since 1985.

Hey gang,

I you those of you that went to the Hershey meet had a great time, and a
safe trip!!!!!

If any of you took lots of pictures, place burn them to CD for me and mail
the CD to me. That would be greatly appreciated. I see if we can't get a
collage put together.

As always, I'm looking for articles. So I'd love some articles about the meet
like:

1. any first timers, your thoughts, did you enjoy it, etc.

2. Any body have problems on the way to, from, or at the meet? How did
you fix it. What happened, etc.

3. Anything else you can think of. You didn't have any problems but had a
great trip.

John
