That is just a regular 3000 Mk1 BN7 so it's not really that rare at all.
It's the Tri-Carb BN7 that is rare. 365 I think of which only about 35 were
RHD making them, technically, rarer than 100S's!! Yes the RHD version Mk1
BN7 is rarer than the LHD but if you live in the US why would you want to
pay a premium to sit on the wrong side of the car?

I am about to use a colourtune to check my mixture richness. I have access to
another unit through a friend, Has anybody used two simultaneouly? Like on cyl
3 and 4 at the same time making it very easy to get the two carbs together?

I have a friend with a BJ8 who is converting his differential to a Lempert
3.545 gear set. I'm thinking of a conversion myself but I have a late (6 port)
BN4 with different rear end and overdrive ratios. I believe a BJ8 has a 3.9
rear end with a .82 overdrive ratio for an overall ratio in 4th overdrive of
3.207. My BN4 has a 4.1 rear end with a .778 overdrive ratio for an overall
ratio in 4th o/d of 3.19. With the new rear end, the BJ8 will have an overall
4th o/d ratio of 2.9. If I were to put a 3.545 rear end in my car my 4th o/d
ratio would be 2.75. I don't think that would make for good drivability in a
more or less stock (except for a BJ8 cam) 100-Six. However, if I were to use
his 3.9 rear end, my new overall 4th o/d ratio would be 3.03. It's not the
same as the BJ8 with the 3.545 rear end but better than my stock set up. What
do people with far more experience than I have think? Has anyone used a 3.545
rear end in a 100-Six? How does it work?

Many people have converted non overdrive 100-6es to overdrive, at least 
over here. I suspect most of them have taken an overdrive from a 3000. A 
non overdrive 100-6 has 3.9 rear end, and this setup works very well.

I was up at Colin's place last week. The detail is superb. Half scale webers!
He's probably going to auction the DD300 half scale electric car later in the
year if it doesn't sell beforehand.
In case anyone wonders, Colin also has restored over a dozen full size
Healeys, including mine. He is a brilliant craftsman.
He's been doing this for a while. Here's my daughter (aged 6) in the half

The blue BJ8 half scale electric car went for around $US 35k at auction in

I'm visiting Big Bear , CA for a Healey meet and today Barry McGuire was with
us filming an episode of Car Crazy. Very nice guy and they filmed about 35

I always use one Colortune for every carburettor or barrel to set the 
idling mixture. I.e. one for every SU or Stromberg and two for every 
side draught DellOrto, Weber, Mikuni, Solex etc. Further I use the four 
fold Morgan vacuum gauge for balancing

Which brings forth a very useful piece of Austin-Healey trivia.

I would suggest that the rarest of all production Austin-Healeys would be
the 3000 Mk2 BN7 in right hand drive and with the centre shift gearbox.

While there was a total of 35 RHD Mk2 BN7s built, only 12 of these had the
centre shift gearbox and of these 5 were Works Rally Cars. So just 7 RHD Mk2
BN7s with the centre shift gearbox found their way on to the showroom floor.

That is just a regular 3000 Mk1 BN7 so it's not really that rare at all.
It's the Tri-Carb BN7 that is rare. 365 I think of which only about 35 were
RHD making them, technically, rarer than 100S's!! Yes the RHD version Mk1
BN7 is rarer than the LHD but if you live in the US why would you want to
pay a premium to sit on the wrong side of the car?
