Hello all -=C2=A0 =C2=A0Having lurked on this list for many (many, many) ye=
ars I will now seek the wisdom of the group as I proceed ponderously to fin=
ish my TD. =C2=A0It is my first car, purchased in 1963, a '50 TD3165/XPAG34=
99 (interesting story, there). =C2=A0I'm finishing the complete rebuild of =
the tub, all body metal cleaned at RediStrip and primed in the early '80's.=
=C2=A0All new wood bought at that time and everything basically stored ove=
r the years, except for fits and starts and some progress with the mechanic=
als.
=C2=A0 =C2=A0My first question involves the gas tank: is there a consensus =
on coating the interior of the tank? =C2=A0I had always assumed that I woul=
d coat it, and still have a can of the Moss coating bought =C2=A0many (many=
, many) years ago. =C2=A0Any opinions on the pros or cons of coating, and t=
he quality of the Moss product? =C2=A0I have run across other "systems" for=
 coating the tank...Eastwood, etc.
=C2=A0 =C2=A0Appreciate any comments, welcome any questions. =C2=A0Other de=
tails about the car, and more questions to follow.
Thanks,Wayne FrancisOjai, CA

=C2=A0 =C2=A0Thanks to all for the responses on the gas tank coating. =C2=
=A0Interestingly, the feedback was both pro and con on whether to do the co=
ating. =C2=A0The first recommendation was to get rid of the old Moss coatin=
g, which I will do. =C2=A0My other thoughts: =C2=A0the car last had gas in =
the tank when it was last on the road in '68. =C2=A0So it was dry for about=
16 years before it went through the RediStrip cleaning process (in Santa A=
na, CA...long gone). =C2=A0Since the tank had never leaked before, and wasn=
't used for years, I'm thinking that I won't coat it for now. =C2=A0If I de=
velop a pinhole leak in the future I'll coat it then. =C2=A0Got some excell=
ent recommendations on how to do that.

=C2=A0 =C2=A0Thanks again for all the suggestions.Wayne

I recently bought this car which was re imported to the UK from the USA in=

I have no other history to the car and the dealer in Orlando unfortunately=

I recently bought this car which was re imported to the UK from the USA in=

I have no other history to the car and the dealer in Orlando unfortunately=
