This is for the new engine I am building to replace the rod knocking 1275 in my Bugeye. For what it costs, I am committed to put this assembly together. The one caveat that David told me when he sold me the set of shaft and rockers was that the rocker bushes had to be honed to fit the shaft. The hardening process had increased the diameter of the shaft by a couple of thousands. Not a problem. I found a local shop that can do it. The rockers should have a clearance of 1 -2 thou for proper lubrication. The one thing I did not take into account was the pillars. Should they be honed also? I can find no indication anywhere of the clearance dimension for the shaft to pillar fit. Knowing that a tight fit will produce failure and too loose of a fit will drop oil pressure. I was finally zeroing in on a GMB water pump on British Parts Northwest website. I called to ask them about this pump because it was $50. Almost twice what Moss wanted for their Chinese pump. I was told it was very reliable and it was made in Japan. I'll take Japan over China any day for parts for my Bugeye. They were out of stock and did not know when they were going to get more. Bummer, but Google is your friend and a quick search found the same pump at Summit Racing for 27 bucks! An update on the water pump situation.=C2=A0 I was finally= zeroing in on a GMB water pump on British Parts Northwest website.=C2=A0 I= called to ask them about this pump because it was $50.=C2=A0 Almost twice = what Moss wanted for their Chinese pump.=C2=A0 I was told it was very relia= ble and it was made in Japan.=C2=A0 I'll take Japan over China any day = for parts for my Bugeye.=C2=A0 They were out of stock and did not know when= they were going to get more.=C2=A0 Bummer, but Google is your friend and a= quick search found the same pump at Summit Racing for 27 bucks!=C2=A0 It i= s a special order, but I can wait a few days extra.=C2=A0

In 2024 I'm planning on construct= ing a 1275 ( might end up with a 948)  Midget based on a bare (near ru= st free!) 1500 Midget shell I was gifted .  Mary Anne wants a Midget t= o drive and I think I have enough parts to make most of a car from a shell.=   I'd like to run Frank's 70 Midget at at least 1 event in 2024. =  Looking forward to Import Carlisle this year because we are taking t= he freshly reconstructed 1961 Saab 96 Swedish police car to Carlisle. = 2 stroke police car....should be fun!
