Is there a kit or a good way to trim out the edges of carpeting? The car I=
have has a couple missing pieces. I've got a matching roll that I can use=
and I'd like to trim the edges. Some of the existing pieces have what loo=
ks like black vinyl edging and I'm hoping I can do something like that

Dave,

Take the carpet to a carpet dealer that does installs. They have a
machine that can sew an edge on. They use it to turn remnants into area
rugs.

I see that Racestorations has uprated rear leaf springs. Is there a compan=
y in the US that makes these?

I'm not going racing, just want a little stiffer ride. And not lowered, ei=
ther. Those cars are already low!

And is this a good idea?

No surprise in the range of opinions you=E2=80=99ve received. Speaking for m=

I uprated the rear springs on my live axle '67 TR4A back in the day and got
the same result described by John, so from personal experience I would nor
recommend it.

No surprise in the range of opinions you?ve received. Speaking for myself, =
I?ve owned and driven many TRs with beam axles ranging from new to fully re=
stored and on the average British and European roads. After about two hours=
driving, the harshness of ride slowly became agonisingly painful and I had=
to stop. The cars are fun and I love them, but ride quality on sidescreene=
rs and beam axled 4swas, imho, appalling. However, with IRS up the arse end=
, the ride was close to paradise for me, anyway. Hundreds will disagree.<br=

Hey folks, it is me, your underworked and overpaid list admin. Back at
the computer. Some of you know I was taken ill, and spent the last
month away from the computer. But back home now after a month of agony
and weeks of rehab. And only 13,600 new messages to wade through. What
fun!

mjb.
